Ben Zuijderwijk: “I came in contact with Vieux during the usual visit to the local pubs in Schiedam, where Vieux was spoken about with praise. But as soon as you enter younger circles, it is suddenly an unknown phenomenon. Here I saw an opportunity to breathe new life into this special product. For it is unimaginable that in the Netherlands we massively enjoy Cuban rum and English gin, while our own country has so much to offer. Here lies my vision for the future: to bring Dutch products back to the general public and increase the appreciation of this history.”
Our journey began in Schiedam, where we have the support of many local entrepreneurs. With this solid foundation, we intend to grow rapidly. The core of our product revolves around bringing people together and promoting social interaction. Therefore, we focus on local cafes that believe in our product and help create a network of conviviality. This way we can reach as many people as possible and share the unique experience of Vieux.
The rich history of Schiedam has inspired us to create a unique product. With the addition of a subtle honey touch, we distinguish ourselves from the traditional Vieux and open the door to new possibilities. Ingenuity was at the heart of the creation of Vieux, and with this in mind we continue that tradition and continue to innovate.
Ben Vieux’s outlets are currently located in and around Schiedam. However, we are working hard to reach all parts of the Netherlands through our distribution points.
